South West Intervention Services

Summary

In 2016 South West Intervention Services was established to work closely with local authorities and educational institutions in the provision of high-quality intervention, support, and care for young people..

About

Working in partnership with local authorities and schools, SWIS primarily develops intervention programmes, offering bespoke packages tailored to meet the individual needs of vulnerable children and young people.

Programmes include mentoring and outdoor learning to individuals requiring additional support when struggling to thrive in a conventional school setting.

Benefits of the programmes include:

    • Enabling respite support for young people living with disabilities.
    • Improving children’s psychological and emotional wellbeing.
    • Supporting children who are experiencing difficult family circumstances.
    • Enabling children to improve their academic achievements to ensure intervention programmes support English, Mathematics and Science attainment.
    • Strengthening children’s ability to manage their behaviours.
    • Re-engaging children who are vulnerable, depressed, or anxious.
